Fostering our community
UC's Core Values guide the work of TRW|SAS.
During the year, we run social events for students registered with us, including barbecues, games afternoons and events at other locations on campus like Te Rua Makerspace and the community gardens.
Accessibility Advisors have good knowledge of the Support and Wellbeing services on campus, and can refer and signpost students to these as needed.
We have an engaged Student Advisory Executive (SAE) who meet regularly. The SAE is comprised of members of our community, all of whom have lived experience of studying at UC with an accessibility challenge, and their voice helps to shape our service. They also share their experiences with others at annual outreach events during orientation and across the year. Anyone interested in volunteering for SAE for next year should email sas@canterbury.ac.nz.
