PLEASE NOTE: Your qualification must be conferred before registering to attend Eke Tangaroa. Those who are not conferred will be unable to attend. If you are unsure if your degree has been conferred or not, contact graduation@canterbury.ac.nz.
Registration for Eke Tangaroa has now closed due to venue capacity. We hope to see you at future Eke Tangaroa celebrations
Graduation Booklet
Graduation booklets containing the names of all those graduates attending Eke Tangaroa will be available at the ceremony. It is important that you provide us with the correct details upon registering i.e. your name and iwi (the information that you provide us with will be printed in the booklets).
Checklist
1. Check Your Graduation Status – Your qualification must be conferred before registering. If unsure, contact graduation@canterbury.ac.nz.
2. Register for Eke Tangaroa – Complete your registration by Wednesday, 2nd April.
3. Notify Us of Any Changes – If you can no longer attend, please inform us promptly.
4. Stay Updated – Keep an eye on communications from UC Māori for further details.
5. Celebrate Your Success! – Enjoy this moment and take pride in your academic achievements. We look forward to seeing you cross the Eke Tangaroa stage!
Please note: If you are not attending a Faculty Graduation Celebration but will be attending either the Eke Tangaroa or Pacific Graduation Celebration you will need to order regalia from GWC Regalia Hire. You need to indicate in the order that you are only attending the Eke Tangaroa or Pacific Graduation Celebration.

Graduation Terminology
Refers to the academic gown, hood and trencher worn at the graduation celebration (also known as Academic dress).
When you officially receive your diploma.
When you officially receive your degree.
The official certificate you receive when your degree has been conferred or your diploma awarded.
When you are eligible to graduate but have not yet done so.
Once your degree has been conferred or your diploma awarded.
You will not be attending a graduation celebration and instead receive your diploma by mail.

Eke Panuku is an event where you can come and meet the UC Māori team and learn more about how we can help you settle into university life and support you as you jump into the waka of tertiary study.
Take this opportunity to connect with our Māori student advisors (Kaiurungi) and the many support services at UC.
When registering to attend Eke Panuku, if you have whānau wanting to come, make sure to get tickets for them too!
