Through the Diploma in Health (DipHlth), you will understand the principles and practices of health promotion. Learn how you can be part of driving the change for a healthier Aotearoa, and empower our communities to take health back on their own terms and increase access to services.
The Diploma in Health is an ideal option to add health promotion knowledge to your studies or career, or as a pathway to the Bachelor of Health.
Admission to UC with University Entrance (or equivalent) is required to enrol.
If English is your additional language, you are also required to meet UC's English language requirements.

The DipHlth is made up of a total 120 points, which includes four compulsory courses and four electives.
You can begin your studies in either February or July, and can take one year full-time, or up to four years part-time to complete.
You may also choose to transfer any completed courses to the Bachelor of Health Sciences during study.
2024 SSL: $9.17 per point ($1,100.40 for 120 points)
2025 SSL: $9.72 per point ($1,166.40 for 120 points)
The Diploma in Health pathway provides a solid understanding of health concepts, effective communication skills, and health promotion, with a focus on health literacy, disease prevention, and the social determinants of health. Graduates will be able to apply health education strategies to convey complex health information, build trust and foster collaborative relationships with individuals, whānau and communities.
Graduates will be well-prepared to positively impact community wellbeing and pursue further studies into the Bachelor of Health.
