Welcome to your new life in Ōtautahi Christchurch!

If you are a new UC international student (or transitioning to campus for the first time), join us for a fun and informative welcome session where you can meet other international students, find out about key support staff on campus, and learn about the many opportunities on offer to you as a student at UC.

Students who are welcome to join this event:

• New international undergraduate and master students*
• Study Abroad and Exchange students
• New Zealand Manaaki Scholarship students
• UCIC, CCEL and other pathway students transitioning to the UC campus

* Graduate research students, including research masters and doctoral students, please contact our Graduate School for orientation information.

When and where? 

The International Welcome for Semester 2, 2025 will take place on July, 10th. Sign up link will be available closer to the date.

What You’ll Learn:

• Essential steps for travel, accommodation, and settling in.
• Insights into the culture and academic system in New Zealand.
• Tips for managing finances, health, and well-being abroad.

Course Structure:
Modules: 6 modules with videos, quizzes, and resources.
Duration: Self-paced, but we highly recommend completing Module 1, Module 2, and Module 3 before you travel to New Zealand.

Step 2: Click ‘Create new account’
Step 3: Log in with your account
Step 4: Find ‘UC International: Pre-Departure Online Course’ under the orientation section and self-enrol.
