Dr Lisa Furlong is a Senior Lecturer at the Child Well-being Research Institute at the University of Canterbury. She is the Programme Co-ordinator for BSLA PLD literacy specialist course (Years 0-8).
An experienced speech-language therapist, Dr Furlong has extensive experience in supporting literacy specialists, teachers, and speech-language therapists implement structured literacy teaching and interventions based on the science of learning.
Lisa has co-led PLD design and development work in structured literacy teaching across years 0-8. Dr Furlong has research interests in technology-based interventions to support structured literacy teaching for students with learning difficulties.
Dr Furlong is also an Adjunct Research Fellow in the SOLAR Lab in the School of Education at La Trobe University (Melbourne)
