HOW TO APPLY
What is the Specialist Schools PLD?

A tailored PLD stream for specialist schools and educators supporting learners with significant literacy needs.

 

Who is eligible?

Teachers and specialists in specialist schools, units, or support services.

 

How is it delivered?

Three days of workshops (in-person, at chosen locations throughout New Zealand), coaching support, 8 x online Communities of Practice, and online self-directed learning modules.

 

What qualification is awarded?

Certificate of Proficiency in BSLA Structured Literacy for Specialist Schools (15 postgraduate points).

 

Is funding available?

Funding is targeted at specialist schools and is managed directly by the Ministry of Education. No funding application is required for this PLD.

 

What support is provided?

Online learning modules, student assessments, detailed lesson plans, teaching resources, video teaching exemplars and access to the BSLA assessment site, all targeted for students with complex communication and learning needs.

 

How do I enrol?

Funding is targeted at specialist schools and is managed directly by the Ministry of Education. No funding application is required for this PLD.
